Sophomore forward Grant Ellena (Coon Rapids, Minn.) posted his first career four-point game with a goal and three assists in the Johnnies’ 7-3 non-conference win over Finlandia (Mich.) on Dec. 13. He scored SJU’s first goal, which tied it at 1-1, and then assisted on Alex Lindeberg’s first career goal to break a 2-2 tie 14:05 into the second period. He later assisted on two of the Johnnies’ three goals in the third period to break the game open. Ellena finished with a plus-four on the day. He was named the MIAC Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week for his performance.

Ellena currently leads the Johnnies with nine assists and a plus/minus of plus-five, and is tied for the team-lead with 13 points (4g/9a).

SJU (5-7-1, 1-5-0 MIAC) returns to action Friday, Jan. 8, against Wis.-Stevens Point. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud.
