Saint John's University senior Joe Schoolmeesters (Litchfield, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week for the eighth time of his career Tuesday, Sept. 23.
A two-time MIAC Most Valuable Player, Schoolmeesters led SJU to a win at the 15-team Wis.-Eau Claire Invitational Sept. 21-22 with a three-over-par 145 to finish second individually. Schoolmeesters, who shot the low round of the tournament with a 69 on Sunday, was the top Division III and MIAC golfer at the meet.
The Johnnies return to action next weekend at Gustavus’ Twin Cities Classic. The three-day tournament begins on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Elk River C.C. in Elk River.
