Saint John’s University sophomore Connor Cline (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) posted a 1-1 record two starts on the mound, but recorded a 1.42 ERA and a .196 opponent batting average with 13 strikeouts in 12.2 innings. In three starts at first base, Cline batted .429 (6-14) with two doubles and three RBI.

Following SJU's 13-3 loss to Wisconsin-La Crosse in game one of the doubleheader March 15, Cline went the distance in game two, allowing three runs (only one earned) on five hits with five strikeouts against the same Eagle lineup.

Cline was saddled with the tough-luck loss to Nebraska Wesleyan on March 19, allowing all five runs (one earned) off just five hits in 5.2 innings with eight strikeouts. All five of NWU’s runs came with two outs.

The Johnnies return to action with a pair of non-conference games at Luther (Iowa) on Tuesday, March 29. The doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
