Saint John's University senior quarterback Joe Boyle (Richfield, Minn./Holy Angels) ended the day 25 of 36 passing for 332 yards and three touchdowns to record his second career 300-yard passing game in the Johnnies' 42-17 win at St. Olaf Saturday. He was 18 of 21 for 244 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone. The three incomplete passes included a dropped pass and two that were purposely thrown away. Boyle completed a pass to eight different receivers in the game. He earned MIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance.

The Johnnies totaled 510 yards of offense, their sixth 500-yard game of the season (all six wins) and third consecutive, and scored touchdowns in all five trips to the red zone in the victory.

He has directed the MIAC’s (conference games only) best overall offense (472.6 ypg.) and pass offense (276.6 ypg.), and currently leads the conference in three individual categories: passing (261.6 ypg.), pass efficiency (166.7 rating) and total offense (285.1 ypg.). SJU finished last (130.1 ypg.) in the MIAC (conference game only) in pass offense last fall.

Boyle has completed 163 of 237 passes (68.8 pct.) for 2,187 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. According to pass efficiency rating, Boyle is having the third-best season by an SJU quarterback in school history (163.5 pass efficiency rating in all games). The Johnnies lead the MIAC with 173 first downs and have converted over 50 percent (50.6 pct., 42-83) of their third-down conversions this season.

SJU (6-3, 5-2 MIAC) ends its 2010 season by playing host to Hamline (1-8, 0-7 MIAC) this Saturday, Nov. 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
