Saint John's junior Zack Boerjan (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) totaled six points (2g/2a) as SJU (4-5-2, 2-2-2 MIAC) went 2-0 over the weekend. He was named the MIAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week Oct. 9 for his performance.
He ended his scoring drought with a pair of goals, including what proved to be the game-winner, and assisted on another in the 4-1 win Oct. 6 over Saint Mary's and served as the first assist on the game-winning goal in the 1-0 non-conference win Oct. 8 against Minnesota-Morris.
He is tied for fifth in the MIAC with seven points (2g/3a) in five conference games.
Boerjan led SJU with 15 points (6g/3a) last fall and finished second in the MIAC with 13 points (5g/3a) in conference play (second only to MIAC Player of the Year, St. Thomas' Mark Heydt) en route to All-MIAC first-team honors.
The Johnnies continue non-conference play with a 7 p.m. match against Wisconsin-Superior on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex in Superior, Wis.
