Saint John's sophomore post Lucas Walford (Elko, Minn./New Prague) averaged 11.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and two blocks per game while shooting 75 percent (12-for-16) from the field as SJU (18-2, 14-1 MIAC) went 2-1 last week.
Since the start of spring semester (Jan. 15), Walford is shooting 75 percent (24-for-32) from the field and 79.2 percent (19-for-24) from the free-throw line, with an average of 9.6 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks in 22.4 minutes per game over the last seven contests. He leads the MIAC (all games) in shooting percentage (.742, 66-for-89) and is second in both blocked shots (36) and rebounding (9.1 rpg.).
