Saint John's junior guard David Stokman (Maple Lake, Minn.) missed last Wednesday's game against Macalester due to the flu but returned to lead all scorers with 26 points on 10 of 16 shooting, including a 4-for-8 performance from three-point range, in the Johnnies' 77-62 win Saturday over St. Thomas. Stokman scored 20 or more points for the third time this season and 14th of his career. He was named the MIAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Jan. 22 for the second time this season, and third time of his career, for his performance.
Stokman shot 62.2 percent (28-for-45) from the field and averaged 21.3 points in his last four games against the Tommies. He was named the MIAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week earlier this season on Dec. 18.
Tonight's Saint John's basketball home game against Gustavus Adolphus has been postponed, due to the snowfall in southern Minnesota, and rescheduled for 7 p.m. next Monday, Jan. 29, in Sexton Arena.
No. 12 SJU (14-1, 10-0 MIAC) takes its 12-game win streak to Hamline for a 7 p.m. tip-off on Wednesday, Jan. 24, in St. Paul.
