Saint John's freshman Max Martin (Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata) earned two conference titles at the 2016 MIAC Indoor Championships March 11-12.
He won the MIAC title in the 55-meter hurdles, SJU's first in the event since Jed Kassulke '02 in 2000, with a personal-record time of 7.98 seconds, and was a member of the Johnnies' champion distance medley relay team. The finish was SJU's first in the top three, let alone title, in the event.
SJU's third-place finish out of 11 teams at the meet was the program's best since it claimed second in 2007 and 2008, and the 10 All-MIAC honors (top three individually, champion relay) are the most since 2007 (10).
