Senior Erik Diley (Prescott, Wis.) finished 11th out of 64 long jumpers with a distance of 6.97 meters (22-10 1/2") at the Iowa State Classic last Friday, Feb. 13. The majority of the participants were Division I-level.

Two weeks ago, Diley finished second in the long jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 7.03 meters (23-1/2") at the MSU-Mankato Ted Nelson Classic Feb. 7. The mark is currently good for seventh-best in all of NCAA Division III.

Diley holds the SJU outdoor record of 7.30 meters (23-11 1/2"), which he set at the 2008 MIAC Outdoor Championships last spring.

SJU hosts the University of Minnesota-Duluth for an 11 a.m. dual meet next Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Donald McNeely Spectrum in Collegeville.
