Saint John’s sophomore Jack Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) opened the MIAC tennis schedule with a 6-2 and 6-0 win at No. 1 singles in the Johnnies’ 6-3 loss to St. Thomas March 16.

Hansen has won four of his last five matches at the Johnnies’ top spot in singles competition. His lone loss during the current stretch was a hard-fought 11-9 loss in the super-breaker against NAIA Tennessee Wesleyan March 4 in Tampa, Fla.

SJU (4-4, 0-1 MIAC) plays host to No. 18 Gustavus Adolphus for a noon match this Saturday, March 22, at Fitness Evolution in Sartell.
