Saint John’s University sophomore Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) led the Johnnie cross country in second place, three seconds behind Hamline's Colin Rogers, with a time of 12:10 as SJU narrowly finished second out of three teams at the St. Kate's 4k Invitational Oct. 12 in St. Paul.

Feichtinger has now finished first or second among the Johnnie runners in all three varsity events this fall. He led the SJU contingent in third place with an 8k time of 27:59 in the season-opening win at the annual SJU Invitational Sept. 7 and finished second, 29th overall (25:49), six seconds behind senior Matt Scherber (Royalton, Minn./Sartell-St. Stephen) at the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational Oct. 4.

The Johnnies travel to West Salem, Wis., this Saturday, Oct. 19, for the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational. The race is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Maple Grove Golf Course.
