Saint John’s senior tennis student-athlete Fabricio Moncada (Managua, Nicaragua/Lincoln International Academy) improved to 8-2 (2-0 MIAC) with a straight-set victory at No. 1 singles in the Johnnies’ 7-2 win over Concordia-Moorhead March 9.

Prior to the win, Moncada teamed up with junior Connor Rust (Rochester, Minn./Lourdes) to earn an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.

Moncada currently boasts a 45-17 (19-10 MIAC) career record in singles competition.

The Johnnies (2-2, 2-0 MIAC) travel south for a pair of matches on Saturday, March 16, in St. Peter. SJU is scheduled to face nationally-ranked Gustavus Adolphus at 10:30 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. match against Elmhurst (Ill.).
