Saint John's junior forward Jascha Pettit (Wadena, Minn.) tallied three even-strength goals and an assist as the Johnnies ended a three-week hiatus from competition with a two-game sweep at Concordia (Wis.) over the weekend.
He recorded two goals, including what proved to be the game-winning tally, and an assist in the 5-2 win Friday before adding his fourth goal of the season, the Johnnies’ first of the game, in the 5-4 overtime win Saturday. Pettit now has four goals in his last three games after being held scoreless in the season’s first five contests. He led the team, and tied for the MIAC lead, with 14 goals last winter.
Saint John’s ends the fall semester with a pair of non-conference games this week, beginning with a 7 p.m. contest against St. Thomas on Thursday, Dec. 13. The Johnnies then host the Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.), ranked No. 13 nationally, for Youth Hockey Day, a 2 p.m. puck-drop, on Saturday, Dec. 15. Both games will be held at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
