Freshman David Schneider (Albany, Minn.) tied for first place out of 79 golfers with a one-under par 143 as SJU Blue finished third out of 14 teams at the SJU Fall Invitational Sept. 17-18.

Schneider led the tournament after the first round thanks to his two-under par 70 on Saturday at Blackberry Ridge G.C. in Sartell. He is currently averaging a 75.7 over his first seven rounds as a Johnnie this fall.

The Johnnies compete at the three-day Twin Cities Classic, hosted by Gustavus Adolphus, this Saturday-Monday, Sept. 24-26. Saturday’s round is scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. start at the Links at Northfork in Ramsey.
