Senior centerfielder Aaron Pfaff (New Ulm, Minn./Cathedral) clubbed his first collegiate home run and batted .480 (12-for-25) with eight RBI and eight runs scored from the leadoff spot as SJU went 4-2 last week. He batted .533 (8-for-15) with runners on base and .600 (6-for-10) with runners in scoring position.
He has started all 15 games and leads the team in hits (27), RBI (18), multi-hit games (8) and multi-RBI games (5).
Pfaff is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak (13-game reached-base streak) and is batting .545 (24-for-44) with 13 runs scored and 15 RBI during the stretch.
His 5-for-9 afternoon on the trip's final day enabled him to move into fifth in SJU history with 139 hits for his career and is now five hits behind assistant coach Chad Krueger '99 for fourth. Pfaff is currently second in SJU history in walks (64), third in stolen bases (39), fifth in at-bats (423), is tied for fifth in runs scored (94) and is eighth in games played (119).
The Johnnies (9-6 overall) are scheduled to open MIAC play with a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday, March 28, at St. Olaf.
