Saint John's junior Thomas Feichtinger (Omaha, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine) won his third consecutive MIAC outdoor title in the 800 meters (1:54.12) by 0.06 of a second over Carleton's Donson Cook-Gallardo at the MIAC Outdoor Championships May 8-9 in St. Paul.
He won the 800 meters indoors in 2014 and took second in the event in March, and is now a 10-time All-MIAC honoree: one in cross country, four in indoor track and five in outdoor track.
Feichtinger is currently 12th in NCAA Division III in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:50.66 and is 22nd in the 800 meters (1:52.26). The top 20 times advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships May 21-23 in Canton, N.Y.
The Johnnies finished sixth out of 11 teams at the meet and wraps up their regular season at Wisconsin-La Crosse's "Last Chance" Qualifier on Thursday, May 14.
