Round 2 Results
LE SUEUR, Minn. – Saint John's golf increased its two-shot lead to four following the second round of Gustavus Adolphus' three-day Twin Cities Classic on Sunday, Oct. 4, at Le Sueur C.C. (par 72).
SJU (-4, 572) recorded a 4-under par 284 and leads the 15-team field by four shots above Bethel (E, 576), Gustavus Adolphus (+9, 585), Bethel's second team (+11, 587) and Concordia-Moorhead (+26, 603).
Monday's final round begins with a 10 a.m. shotgun start at Minnesota Valley C.C. (par 73) in Bloomington.
Senior
Nate Appelhof (Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace) bogeyed his second hole of the day and proceeded to post four birdies and 12 pars for a career-best, 3-under par 69. He is tied for fifth out of 91 golfers at 144 (E).
Junior
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) carded six birdies for the second-straight day for a 1-under par 71. He is tied with sophomore
Luke Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) for third at 141 (-3). Ehmke and classmate
Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) posted an even-par 72 each on Sunday. Ehmke is tied for the tournament lead with 25 pars, one ahead of Appelhof's 24, and Roloff is tied for 10th overall at 146 (+2).
Freshman
William Andrus (St. George, Utah/Homeschool) eagled the par-5 No. 5 (485 yards) and tallied the day's best drop score of 73 (+1).
SJU Blue slipped two spots to 10th at 614 (+38) and is led by junior
Connor O'Hara (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) in a tie for 27th at 151 (+7).
