Round 1 Results
ELK RIVER, Minn. – Saint John's golf sits atop the leaderboard by two shots following the first round of Gustavus Adolphus' three-day Twin Cities Classic held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Elk River C.C. (par 72).
SJU fired an even-par 288 to lead the 15-team field, ahead of Bethel (+2, 290), Bethel's second team (+6, 294), the host Gusties (+10, 298) and St. Olaf (+11, 299).
The second round begins with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday, Oct. 4, at Le Sueur C.C. (par 72).
Sophomore
Luke Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) is in third place out of 91 golfers thanks a collegiate-best 69 (-3) on Saturday. He collected four birdies, including his first two holes of the day, and 13 pars.
Junior
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) led the 10 Johnnies with six birdies for a 2-under par 70, which is good four fourth overall, and sophomore
Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) followed with a 74 (+2).
Senior
Nate Appelhof (Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace) served as the Johnnies' fourth score with a 75 (+3).
Sophomore
Collin Fogarty (Pine Island, Minn.) led SJU Blue, which is tied with Nebraska Wesleyan for eighth place with a 304 (+16), with a 2-over par 74. He is tied for 17th, one shot ahead of
Connor O'Hara (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) in 21st (+3, 75).
