Final Results | Hole-by-Hole Scoring

SARTELL, Minn. – Saint John's golf finished second out of 14 teams, three shots from the lead, at its fall invitational on Sunday, Sept. 27, at Blackberry Ridge G.C. (par 72).

Bethel won the tournament with a two-round total of 586 (+10), followed by SJU (+13, 589), Concordia-Moorhead (+22, 598) and Wisconsin-Eau Claire (+24, 600). SJU Blue tied with the Royals' second team and Manitoba for seventh at 605 (+29).

Senior Nate Appelhof (Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace) went -2 over his final seven holes to post a 73 (+1) and finish fourth out of 87 golfers with a two-day score of 144 (E).

Freshman William Andrus (St. George, Utah/Homeschool) bogeyed his first two holes of the morning and bounced back with a -1 the rest of the way for a 73 (+1). He tied for eighth overall with a 146 (+2).

Junior Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) was the third Johnnie on the varsity team with a 73 (+1) Sunday thanks to 14 pars and tied for 15th at 149 (+5).

Sophomore Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) carded a 74 (+2) Sunday and tied for 22nd with a 150 (+6). He finished second in the tournament with a collective -1 on the par-4 holes.

Sophomore Luke Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) rounded out the Johnnies' five with a 76 (+4) – which tied for the final round's best drop score – and tied for 35th at 153 (+9).

Sophomore Braxton Berlin (Lake City, Minn.) led SJU Blue Sunday with a 1-over par 73 and tied for 15th overall at 149 (+5). He led the tournament in both birdies (10) and on the par-5 holes (-6). Classmate Collin Fogarty (Pine Island, Minn.) had the fivesome's best finish – 14th – at 148 +4) and junior Marty Timmons (Brainerd, Minn.) tied for 24th (+7, 151).

Junior Dylan Willette (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led SJU White, which finished 13th (+44, 620), with a 154 (+10) to tie for 38th. 

Freshman Matthew Heymans (Mendota Heights, Minn./Two Rivers) led the Johnnies' 19-man contingent Sunday with a 1-under par 71. He tied for 35th overall as an individual with a 153 (+9).

SJU competes at Gustavus Adolphus's three-day Twin Cities Classic this Saturday-Monday, Oct. 3-5: Elk River C.C. in Elk River (Saturday), Le Sueur C.C. in Le Sueur (Sunday) and Minnesota Valley C.C. in Bloomington (Monday).
