Saint John’s junior forward Robb Stautz (Roseville, Minn.) scored three even-strength goals and recorded a plus/minus ratio of +4 as SJU (6-2-2, 2-2-0 MIAC) posted a pair of ties against teams that either received votes or were ranked in last Monday’s (Nov. 20) national polls. He was named the MIAC Men’s Hockey Athlete of the Week Nov. 27 for his weekend performance.
Down 2-0 three minutes into the game Friday at Marian (Wis.), Stautz scored SJU’s first goal of the night and the go-ahead goal in the eventual 3-3 tie. He scored the game-tying goal with 2:18 remaining in Saturday afternoon’s 2-2 tie at No. 15 Concordia (Wis.).
Stautz is currently tied for the team lead in goals (4) and is second in points (8).
The Johnnies return to MIAC play with a pair of road games at Saint Mary's (3-6-1, 1-2-1 MIAC) this weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. puck-drop on Friday, Dec. 1, in Winona.
