Senior Brayden Wagner (Englevale, N.D./Lisbon) won the pole vault event with a height of 4.50 meters at the Meet of Saints hosted by St. Thomas last Thursday, April 9, and finished second out of 11 participants in the Saint John’s Decathlon on Tuesday, April 14, in Collegeville.
Wagner won the pole vault (4.55 meters) and 1,500-meter run (4:35.58) and claimed second place in the 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, discus and shot put for an NCAA provisional total of 6,226 points.
The SJU track and field team returns to action at the University of Minnesota-Duluth Invitational on Saturday, April 18, in Duluth. Field events are scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m., followed by track events at 11 a.m.
