Saint John's freshman outfielder Wyatt Ulrich (Indus, Minn./International Falls) started SJU's final five games at the leadoff spot, his first five collegiate appearances, and batted .545 (12-for-22) with seven runs scored, a double, triple and three RBI. He was named the MIAC Baseball Player of the Week March 13 for his performance.
Ulrich recorded multiple hits in each of the five games and posted a .682 slugging percentage and a .565 on-base percentage.
The Johnnies (9-5 overall) went 6-4 in the 10-game slate over six days in Fort Myers, Fla., last week. The four losses consisted of three by one run and another in extra-innings.
SJU is tentatively scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 25, against an opponent to be determined at either U.S. Bank Stadium (6 p.m.) in Minneapolis or the Johnnies' Becker Park (TBD), depending on the weather.
