BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Saint John's freshman southpaw
Dylan Bloom (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) was named the MIAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 27.
Bloom surrendered three singles and struck out three over six scoreless innings of the Johnnies' 14-0, seven-inning win Saturday (April 25) at Augsburg to complete the sweep and move into third place in the conference standings. He is now 2-0 with a 1.75 ERA, .207 opponent batting average and 21 strikeouts (to eight walks) in 25.2 MIAC innings.
Overall, Bloom touts a 3-1 record with a 2.48 ERA, .238 opponent batting average and 27 strikeouts in 36.1 innings.
SJU (20-12, 10-6 MIAC) hosts two mid-week doubleheaders in Collegeville, beginning with a 3:30 p.m. twinbill against Northwestern (Minn.) on Tuesday, April 28. The Johnnies return to MIAC play at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, against Carleton.
