The Johnnies (3-3 overall) batted .459 (28-for-61), including .421 (16-for-38) with runners in scoring position.
Four SJU freshmen started both games in the lineup and batted .560 (14-for-25), led by second baseman
Cole Weaver's (Carlsbad, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) 6-for-7 performance at the No. 9 spot in the order.
Senior catcher
Gabe MacDonald (Minneapolis, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) went 4-for-5 at the plate with his sixth collegiate home run as all nine SJU batters recorded a hit in game one.
Sophomore
Ben Etzell (Greenbank, Wash./Coupeville) earned the win, allowing six runs on eight hits in four innings. Sophomore
Ted Christian (Le Center, Minn./Tri-City United) allowed an unearned run in two innings of relief and freshman
Cameron Jurek (Foley, Minn.) pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn his first collegiate save. Jurek also went 2-for-4 with a double, three walks and three RBI as the Johnnies' designated hitter in both games.
SJU jumped on the Falcons (0-2 overall) with nine runs through the first three innings in game two. Junior third baseman

Patrick Strey (Apple Valley, Minn./Eastview) smacked a pair of doubles.
Sophomore
Nick Noack (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) earned the win thanks to four innings of scoreless relief. He struck out one and allowed three hits. Senior
Marcus Barone (Eden Prairie, Minn./Benilde-St. Margaret's) made the start and allowed the four runs on five hits in the first three innings.
The Johnnies return to action with 10 games over spring break March 20-25 in Ft. Myers, Fla. SJU is scheduled to play six games, all 9-inning contests, the first three days (a total of 54 innings).
