HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Saint John's sophomore
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) was named to the Division III PING All-Region 6 team, which was announced by the Golf Coaches' Association of America (GCAA) Sunday (May 10), as well as earning 2025-26 All-MIAC honorable mention distinction when the conference postseasn honors were released Monday (May 11).
SJU has now had 64 All-Region honorees in the last 27 seasons (since 2000).
Men's golf student-athletes earned 2025-26 All-MIAC honors by placing in the top 10 at the MIAC Championship held Sept. 27-29 and five others were voted in by the league's head coaches last week.
The five student-athletes voted in included the Player of the Year, Gustavus Adolphus' Jimmy Abdo (73.0 avg., ranked No. 44 nationally); Augsburg's Jack Berry (75.7 avg., ranked No. 326); the Rookie of the Year, Bethel's Zeke Roberts (74.3 avg., No. 172); Carleton's Justin Rodriguez (73.8 avg., No. 114); and St. Olaf's Isaac Schmidt (74.0 avg., No. 111).
Grahek is currently ranked No. 105 nationally by Clippd and led SJU in scoring average (74.4 in 25 rounds), rounds at par or better (5), top-five finishes (2) and top-10 finishes (4) in 2025-26. He posted a 692-164 (.808) record, including a 4-2 head-to-head mark against Berry, and defeated the Auggie freshman by a combined 21 shots this season.
Grahek's scoring average was good for 12th in the MIAC. He is currently 12th in program history with a 74.7 average in 49 career rounds.
The only freshman to earn All-MIAC honors with a top-10 finish (ninth) at the 2024 MIAC Championships, Grahek was 11th in the MIAC – first among all freshmen – with a 75.1 scoring average in 24 rounds.
