GCAA Release

NORMAN, Okla. - The 2025-26 Saint John's University golf team earned Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) PLATFORM Golf All-Academic honors for the 18th-consecutive season on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

To be eligible for All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year and carry a team GPA of 3.00 or higher. 

The 19 Johnnies combined for a 3.23 team GPA to earn the program's 18th distinction in the award's 18th year. 

Recent graduates Tim Fultz '26 (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) and Ethan Kress '26 (Woodbury, Minn.), and rising junior Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) earned GCAA All-America Scholar honors Aug. 3. The SJU golf program has now had an All-America Scholar each of the past 27 years, for a total of 56 during that span. 

The Johnnie golf team finished sixth out of nine teams at the 2025 MIAC Championships in 2025-26.

The Johnnies report to campus Aug. 19 and begin the 2026-27 season – and era of new head coach Casey Vangsness '14 – Sept. 13-14 at Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational (Eau Claire C.C.).
