Aidan Wayne (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) were crowned champions and two others finished in the top five at Concordia-Moorhead's Cobber Last Shot Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Krueger went 3-0 to win the 133-pound bracket and improve to 19-1 this season. He started his day with a pair of bonus-point victories – a 17-1 technical fall and 10-2 major decision – and edged Concordia's Kie Anderson 3-2 for the title. Krueger recorded a second-period takedown, surrendered an escape and a penalty for stalling with 13 seconds left in the match.
Wayne reached 30 wins (30-4 record) with a 3-0 record to take the title at 197 pounds. He registered his team-leading 16th and 17th pins of the season and posted a 7-3 decision over Concordia's William Freking in the championship match.
