Saint John's golf competes for its 16th conference title at the three-day MIAC Championships this Saturday-Monday, Oct. 10-12, at Edinburgh USA (par 72) in Brooklyn Park. –

NO SPECTATOR CARTS: There will be no spectator carts available for use this weekend at Edinburgh.
TEE TIMES: Teams are seeded and arranged in the tee times according to the previous year's results for the first day.
-Saturday: SJU is paired with St. Olaf and Macalester, starting at 11:12 a.m. (nine-minute intervals).
-Sunday: Based on Saturday's scores.
-Monday: Based on Saturday and Sunday's scores.
WHAT'S AT STAKE: The MIAC champion earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships on May 18-21 at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's tied Bethel for the team title at Gustavus Adolphus' three-day Twin Cities Classic last weekend (Oct. 3-5). SJU entered the final round with a four-shot lead over Bethel, but the Royals answered with a 2-over par 294 Monday to climb into a tie for first with a three-round total of 870 (+2). Bethel's second team was third (+10, 878) out of the 15 teams, followed by a tie for fourth between Concordia-Moorhead and the host Gusties at 892 (+24).
Junior
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) carded a 1-under par 72 Monday at Minnesota Valley C.C. (par 73) to tie for second out of 91 golfers with a three-round score of 213 (-4). He recorded six birdies and finished under par in each of the tournament's three rounds. The 18 total birdies led the tourney.
Sophomore
Luke Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) posted four birdies for a 1-over par 74 and claimed fourth overall at 215 (-2). Senior
Nate Appelhof (Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace) tied for seventh at 219 (+2) thanks to a 2-over par 75 Monday. He tied for second in the tournament with 34 pars.
Sophomore
Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) was +7 through his first six holes and trimmed it down to a 77 (+4) to tie for 16th at 223 (+6). He tied for third overall with 14 birdies over the three days.
Grahek and Ehmke both birdied their final hole (No. 18), while Appelhof and Roloff did the same on No. 1 to bring the Johnnies into a tie for the title.
Sophomore
Ryan Liveringhouse (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) led SJU Blue, which finished 11th at 920 (+52), on Monday with an even-par 73 to tie for 32nd at 228 (+11). Junior
Connor O'Hara (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) was next with a 2-over par 75 and was the fivesome's top finisher in a tie for 24th at 226 (+9).

SJU'S MIAC HISTORY: The Johnnies have finished second or better at the MIAC Championships 21 of the last 27 seasons, including 14 conference titles.
LAST YEAR'S TOURNEY: SJU finished sixth out of nine teams at last year's MIAC Championships on Sept. 27-29 at Edinburgh G.C. Bethel shot the final round's best score – a 3-over par 291 – to win its third conference championship with a three-round total of 891 (+27), five shots ahead of Gustavus in second (+32, 896). Carleton was third (+37, 901), followed by St. Olaf (+53, 917), Macalester (+58, 922) and SJU (+62, 926).
The Johnnies had a strong start through their first nine, carding 25 pars, five birdies and three eagles, but trouble came later in the course, shooting over par on almost half of their back-nine holes.
Ethan Kress '26, SJU's leader through rounds one and two, finished 17th with a 5-over 77. Kress shot par on eight of his first nine holes but carded an eight on the par-4 No. 7. He added six pars and a two-shot eagle on the back nine but bogeyed 10 and 11 for a three-round 230 (+14), dropping five spots on the final leaderboard.
Grahek finished 19th for SJU with a weekend total of 232 (+16). He was two under to start round three, collecting a pair of birdies and a three-shot eagle on hole nine, but bogeyed four consecutive after the turn for a 6-over 78.
Roloff shot par on 12 of his 18 holes on Monday and ended with a birdie but doubled twice and bogeyed three times to join Grahek with a 78 (+6). He finished tied for 23rd with a 234 (+18) in his first MIAC tournament.
Appelhof and
Tim Fultz '26 tied for 25th at 235 (+19). Fultz also shot eagle on No. 9 and was even through his first nine holes but finished as the third Johnnie with a 78. Appelhof had SJU's best start of the final round with a pair of birdies, a three-shot eagle on No. 4 and two pars but doubled twice and bogeyed three times on his next five holes. He finished with an 81 (+9).
