HAM LAKE, Minn. – Saint John's finished first out of nine teams at the season-opening Augsburg Invitational on Sunday, Aug. 31, at Majestic Oaks G.C. (par 72).
The Johnnies' round-one lead held through the second day of competition, finishing two strokes ahead of the University of Manitoba with a two-day 601 (+25). Austin Roloff
St. Olaf finished third (+33, 609), followed by a tie between Concordia-Moorhead and Wisconsin-Superior in fourth (+ 37, 613) and Macalester in sixth (+39, 615).
Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) won his first collegiate tournament, claiming medalist honors as the only athlete in the 66-player field to shoot under par. Roloff carded a 2-over par 74 on Sunday to finish with a weekend total of 143 (-1), two strokes ahead of a trio of golfers tied for second. After four bogeys to start his morning, Roloff made up ground on the back nine with a birdie and eight pars to maintain his lead.
His 3-under par 69 on Saturday tied SJU's best round at Majestic Oaks G.C., held by then-sophomore Casey Vangsness '14 at the same invitational in 2011.
Tim Sexton (Rochester, Minn./Mayo) was five shots behind his classmate, taking ninth with a 148 after shooting a 2-over 74 in both rounds.
Lukas Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) shot a 153 (+9) to finish 14th, shooting a par on 14 of his 18 holes on Sunday.

Braxton Berlin (Lake City, Minn.) tied for 40th.
The full Johnnie squad competes at the Minnesota Golf Classic, hosted by Bethel, next Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 6-7, at Pioneer Creek G.C. (par 72) in Maple Plain.
