GCAA Release

NORMAN, Okla. – Three Saint John's University golf student-athletes – Andrew Boemer '25 (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) and rising seniors Tim Fultz (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) and Ethan Kress (Woodbury, Minn.) – earned Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors, presented by the Golf Coaches' Association of America (GCAA), for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday, July 29.

To be eligible for the All-America Scholar award, student-athletes must be either sophomore, junior or senior with a season scoring average under 79.0, a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and have participated in 50 percent or more of the team's varsity events/rounds during the 2024-25 season.

The SJU golf program has now had an All-America Scholar each of the past 26 years, for a total of 53 during that span.

Boemer was a two-time PING All-Region honoree and was selected as one of the 10 at-large individuals to compete at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship this spring. The global business leadership major was the second Johnnie to qualify as an individual to nationals and the first since Ryan Gallagher '17 in 2015.

A three-time All-MIAC selection, Boemer ended the season second in the MIAC with a 73.2 scoring average in 25 rounds. He finished in the top five in five of his nine events played this season and tied with Fultz for second on the team with six rounds at par or better. The 73.2 average was the fourth-best season by Johnnie all-time and Boemer ended his collegiate career third in program history with a 74.21 average in 89 career rounds.

A global business leadership major who was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District team, Fultz was the 2024-25 MIAC Elite 22 Award recipient in golf for having the highest cumulative GPA among the student-athletes who finished in the top 10 at the MIAC Championships in October. He earned All-MIAC honors after totaling a three-round score of 217 (+1) to finish fourth at the MIAC Championships. Fultz led SJU with two medalist honors and finished second on the team with a 74.0 average in 24 rounds, which was good for fourth-best in the MIAC, including a 73.0 average (+1.88/round) in eight rounds this spring.

An exercise and health science major, Kress led the team with seven rounds at par or better and finished fourth on the team with a 75.2 scoring average in 24 rounds this season, two shots behind Grahek. He carded a career- and team-best 66 (-6) Sept. 14 during the first round of SJU's fall invitational at St. Cloud C.C. The -6 was tied for the second-best round in SJU history. He was voted All-MIAC by the league's head coaches for the first time in his career in May.

The Johnnie golf team tied for second at the MIAC Championships and recorded its fourth-best scoring average in program history – a 296.0 in 24 rounds – in 2024-25.

The Johnnies report to campus Aug. 15 and begin the 2025-26 season Aug. 30-31 at the Augsburg Invitational (Majestic Oaks G.C. in Ham Lake).
