Round 2 Results
LE SUEUR, Minn. – Saint John's golf is in a three-way tie for fifth place out of 16 teams following the second round of Gustavus Adolphus' Twin Cities Classic held Sunday, Oct. 5, at Le Sueur C.C. (par 70).
The final round is scheduled for a 10 a.m. shotgun start Monday at Minnesota Valley C.C. (par 73) in Bloomington.
The Gusties lead the tournament by 14 shots thanks to their second-straight day with a 13-over par 293. Lake Forest (Ill.) is second at 600 (+40), followed by Bethel (+42, 602), Concordia-Moorhead (+44, 604) and the three-way tie between SJU, Carleton and Nebraska Wesleyan at 606 (+46).
Sophomore
Gavin Grahek (Maple Grove, Minn.) led the Johnnies' 10-man contingent Sunday with an even-par 70. He double-bogeyed his first hole (No. 4) but bounced back with four birdies and went -2 on his final seven holes. Grahek is fourth out of 85 golfers with a two-day total of 145 (+5).
Senior
Ethan Kress (Woodbury, Minn.) posted a second-round 74 (+4) and is 27th at 253 (+13), while freshman
Austin Roloff (Minneapolis, Minn./Spring Lake Park) is 33rd at 254 (+14). Roloff eagled the par-5 No. 16 (471 yards) Sunday. Junior
Nate Appelhof (Blaine, Minn./Totino-Grace) tallied two eagles Saturday at Elk River C.C. (par 70) to match Grahek's 75 (+5) and carded an 80 (+10) Sunday to sit in 36th (+15, 255).
Senior
Gus Briguet (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) led SJU Blue, which is 11th at 621 (+61), with a 1-over par 71. He was -3 on his first 12 holes Sunday before he bogeyed four his last six and is eighth overall (+8, 148). Freshman
Lukas Ehmke (Woodbury, Minn./East Ridge) is second on Blue in 47th (+17, 157).
