ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint John's tennis suffered its fourth-straight loss with a narrow 5-4 decision to Piedmont (Ga.) on Thursday, March 9, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

Wil McDowell (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman) won the lone doubles match for SJU (2-5, 0-1 MIAC) at No. 1, 8-4, against the Lions (6-3, 0-0 CCS).
Senior
Hunter Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) won his singles match at No. 3 after his opponent retired due to injury in the second set and the Johnnies posted victories at Nos. 5-6. Sophomore
Ryan Will (Northfield, Minn.) was victorious at No. 5 thanks to a 7-3 win in his second-set tie-breaker, while junior
Mark Rosen (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) clawed back at No. 6. He dropped the first set 6-3, but won the second with a 9-7 score in the tie-breaker and took the match 10-7 in the super-breaker.
SJU completes its spring-break trip with an 8 a.m. ET match against Division II Cedarville (Ohio) on Friday, March 10, in Kissimmee, Fla.
