ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint John's tennis suffered a pair of losses on Tuesday, March 7, in Florida.

The Johnnies (2-4, 0-1 MIAC) won two singles matches via the super-breaker – junior
Ian Aadland (Brainerd, Minn.) at No. 5 (4-6, 6-4, 10-8) and senior
Will Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) at No. 6 [7-6 (7-5), 0-6, 10-6] – against Covenant (8-2, 0-0 CCS) earlier in the day in Kissimmee, Fla.
SJU nearly won the first two doubles matches and the duo of freshman
Taylor Duncan (Benson, Minn.) and senior
Joe Dwyer (Hibbing, Minn.) posted an 8-4 win at No. 3. Senior
Wil McDowell (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman) and sophomore
Ryan Will (Northfield, Minn.) suffered an 8-7 loss at No. 1 with a 7-4 defeat in the tie-breaker, and sophomore
Cooper Anderson (St. Paul, Minn./White Bear Lake) and senior
Will Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) were edged 8-5 at No. 2.

Peyton Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) recorded an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles and the two teams split singles victories via the super-breaker in an evening match back at the USTA National Campus in Orlando. Aadland collected his second singles win of the day, this time at No. 6: 6-2, 6-7 (4-7) and 10-4. Will won his first set at No. 4 with a 6-3 score, but dropped the second via tie-breaker (7-4) and lost with a 10-8 decision in the super-breaker. The Tigers (3-5, 0-0 ODAC) won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
The Johnnies return to the court against Piedmont (Ga.) at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, March 9, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
