ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint John's tennis suffered an 8-1 defeat to NAIA Judson (Ill.) on Monday, March 6, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
Junior
Mark Rosen (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) recorded the lone win for SJU (2-2, 0-1 MIAC) at No. 6 singles – 6-3 and 6-3 – for his team-leading third singles victory of the season (3-1 record).
The Eagles (4-3, 0-0 CCAC) won the other five singles matches in straight sets, though junior
Daniel Perez (Quito, Ecuador) lost his first set at No. 4 with a 7-6 (7-5) score.
Senior
Peyton Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) and sophomore
Ryan Will (Northfield, Minn.) recorded SJU's closest match in doubles play, an 8-6 defeat at No. 2.
The Johnnies play two matches on Tuesday, March 7, beginning with an 11:30 a.m. ET contest against Covenant (Ga.) at the Oak Street Park Sports Complex in Kissimmee. SJU ends the day with a 6 p.m. ET match against Hampden-Sydney (Va.) back at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
