KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Saint John's tennis ended its Florida trip with a 6-1 loss to Division II Cedarville (Ohio) on Friday, March 10, in Kissimmee. The match was played under Division II rules, in which the three doubles matches were played to six points and counted as one point toward the team score (instead of three).

The Yellow Jackets (9-3, 0-0 G-MAC) won all three doubles matches and five of the six singles bouts. Four of the singles matches, however, went to the super-breaker. Unfortunately for SJU (2-6, 0-1 MIAC), the Johnnies went 1-3 in those four matches.

Junior Mark Rosen (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) won the lone match for SJU, his team-leading fifth of the season (5-3 record), at No. 5: 3-6, 6-4 and 10-8.

Juniors Daniel Perez (Quito, Ecuador) and Ian Aadland (Brainerd, Minn.) pushed their super-breakers to 11 points (11-9) in losses at Nos. 3 and 6, respectively, while sophomore Ryan Will (Northfield, Minn.) suffered a 10-8 defeat at No. 4.

SJU returns to conference play with two home matches next weekend at Sta-Fit in Sartell, beginning with a 1 p.m. tilt vs. St. Olaf (3-5, 0-3 MIAC) on Saturday, March 18. The Johnnies then host Saint Mary's (7-5, 0-2 MIAC) at noon on Sunday, March 19.
