SJU posted a 5-3 advantage in shots, 4-1 on goal, in the first half but the Gusties turned the tide after halftime and gained the win thanks to a pair of goals from Hecht. His first tally came in the 68th minute, which ended Siefken's shutout streak at 294:54, and added another for good measure 1:53 later. GAC totaled a 10-4 shot margin (9-1 on net) in the second half.
