ST. PAUL, Minn. – Saint John's track and field opened its outdoor schedule on Saturday, April 2, at the Hamline Invitational in St. Paul.

The Johnnies won four events and recorded 15 top-five marks/times on the day. SJU did not compete in the 4x100- or 4x400-meter relays.

Junior Kevin Arthur (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park) led the way by winning two events, the 100- (10.67) and 200-meter (21.50) dashes. His time in the 200-meter dash was a program record, breaking a 54-year mark set by Dave Lamm '68 in 1968 (21.3 handheld, 21.54 converted), and is seventh-best in NCAA Division III this season. Arthur's 100-meter time was 0.05 from his personal best and is currently good for fourth in Division III.

The MIAC's top two triple jumpers from the indoor season continued their pace as junior Elijah Wade (Waco, Texas/Vanguard College Prep) won the event with a mark of 13.48 meters and senior Michael Wallace (Nassau, Bahamas/St. Anne's) was close behind in second (13.38 meters).
