Saint John's tennis travels to Orlando, Fla., for seven matches over six days (March 6-11) during spring break.
A LOOK AT THE JOHNNIES: Saint John's moved to 3-0 in the MIAC with a 6-3 win at Saint Mary's last Saturday (Feb. 26) at the Winona Tennis Center. The Johnnies won two of the three doubles matches and claimed five singles bouts in straight sets.Â

Wil McDowell (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman) earned his first win at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-3), but was dealt a defeat with classmate
Hunter Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) at No. 1 doubles (8-4).Â

Peyton Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) and freshman
Ryan Will (Northfield, Minn.) posted an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles to improve to 4-1 (3-0 MIAC), though Fischer later suffered a loss at No. 2 singles via the super-breaker: 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-3. The Cardinals' other win came at No. 3 singles.
Sophomores
Will Deters (Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata) and
Mark Rosen (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) also moved their doubles record to 4-1 (2-0 MIAC) with an 8-3 victory at No. 3.
Will and sophomore
Mike Krasowski (Wausau, Wis./East) each improved to 4-1 with wins at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, while classmate
Daniel Perez (Quito, Ecuador) completed singles competition with a W at No. 6.

TWO YEARS AGO: This is the seventh trip to the Orlando area over spring break in the past eight seasons (SJU did not go last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic). SJU is 16-13 over the previous six trips, including a 3-3 record in 2020. The Johnnies won their first three matches against Kings (Pa.), NAIA Midway (Ky.) and Regis (Mass.). The Johnnies then lost to Division l Hampton (Va.), Division ll Cedarville (Ohio) and Ohio Northern.Â
