WINONA, Minn. - Saint John's tennis moved to 3-0 in the MIAC with a 6-3 win at Saint Mary's on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Winona Tennis Center.
The Johnnies (3-0, 3-0 MIAC) won two of the three doubles matches and claimed five singles bouts in straight sets.
Junior
Wil McDowell (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman) earned his first win at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-3), but was dealt a defeat with classmate
Hunter Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) at No. 1 doubles (8-4).

Peyton Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) and freshman
Ryan Will (Northfield, Minn.) posted an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles to improve to 4-1 (3-0 MIAC), though Fischer later suffered a loss at No. 2 singles via the super-breaker: 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-3.
The Cardinals' (4-5, 0-2 MIAC) other win came at No. 3 singles.
Sophomores
Will Deters (Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata) and
Mark Rosen (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) also moved their doubles record to 4-1 (2-0 MIAC) with an 8-3 victory at No. 3.

Mike Krasowski (Wausau, Wis./East) each improved to 4-1 with wins at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, while classmate
Daniel Perez (Quito, Ecuador) completed singles competition with a W at No. 6.
The Johnnies travel to Orlando for seven matches over six days (March 6-11) during spring break.
