A LOOK AT THE CARDINALS: Saint Mary's (4-4, 0-1 MIAC) saw its three-match win streak end with a pair of home losses to Wisconsin-Superior (9-0) and Loras of Iowa (6-3) last Friday (Feb. 18) and Saturday (Feb. 19), respectively. Junior E.J. Hietala leads the team with a 9-2 (0-1 MIAC) singles record, including a 6-2 mark at No. 3. Junior Josh Janssen is 6-3 (0-1 MIAC) with a 6-2 record at No. 2. Janssen and senior Brandon Kurilla are 5-3 (0-1 MIAC) at No. 1 doubles, while Hietala and freshman Peter Quinn are 4-4 (0-1 MIAC) at No. 2.
LAST APRIL: SJU topped Saint Mary's 7-2 in its first outdoor match at the Chang Tennis Complex in nearly two years (April 26, 2019) last April 10. The Johnnies swept the three doubles matches and allowed one point in the top two singles bouts.
Thomas Gillach '21 won at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-0) and teamed up with junior

Nate Jordre '21 posted a shutout at No. 2 singles and recorded an 8-5 victory at No. 2 doubles with sophomore

Peyton Fischer won at No. 3 doubles with some excitement, 8-7 (7-3).
McDowell (7-5, 6-3) and Meyer (6-4, 3-6, 11-9) earned victories at No. 3 and No. 5 singles, respectively.
Saint Mary's won at Nos. 4 and 6 singles, the latter via the super-breaker.
SERIES HISTORY: The Johnnies are 32-2 against the Cardinals since 1989, including a perfect 10 record in Winona. SJU has won 23 of the last 24 meetings and each of the last five.
