COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University sophomore goaltender
Bailey Huber (Mahtomedi, Minn.) was named the MIAC Men's Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 31.
Huber made his first collegiate start and stopped 27 shots in the Johnnies' 3-1, season-opening win Oct. 29 at Wisconsin-River Falls. The Falcons' lone goal came 4:07 into the contest and Huber stopped the final 25 shots on net.
Both SJU and UWRF received votes in the USCHO.com Preseason Top 15 poll. The Falcons shut out Hamline 4-0 the previous night (Oct. 28) at home.
The Johnnies (1-0 overall) return to Wisconsin for a pair of games this weekend, beginning with a 7 p.m. puck-drop on Friday, Nov. 4, at Wisconsin-Eau Claire. SJU ends the trip at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Northland (Wis.).
