COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's University senior goaltender Jon Howe (Chanhassen, Minn.) and freshman forward Carter Krenke (Bloomington, Minn.) earned national honors from USCHO.com this week.

Howe was named to the All-USCHO second team, while Krenke was All-USCHO rookie team honorable mention.

Howe became SJU's first CCM Hockey/American Hockey Coaches' Association (AHCA) All-America first-team selection in 20 years – goaltender Adam Hanna '06 in 2005-06 – and the 25th overall last week (March 26). He is the sixth Johnnie goaltender to be named an All-American in any right (Bob Hanson '79, 1978-79 in the NAIA; Rick Gregory '03, 2003; Adam Hanna '06, 2004-06; Saxton Soley '16, 2013; and Mac Berglove '21, 2022).

He finished with a 16-6-4 record – the fourth-most wins in an SJU season – to go with a 2.51 GAA, a .929 save percentage and 869 saves. The 869 saves were the second-most in program history, 18 from the record of 887 set by Hanson in 1978-79. Three of Howe's four career assists were tallied this season. His save percentage ranked 16th nationally and his winning percentage (.692) was 19th.

Krenke totaled 19 points (11g/8a) and led SJU in plus/minus (+17) in 27 games. His 19 points were the most by a Johnnie freshman in a season since Spencer Rudrud '25 tallied 20 (5g/15 assists) in 2021-22. Krenke's 11 goals, meanwhile, were the most by a first-year player since Auggie Moore '23 tallied the same in 2019-20. Krenke was second on the team in goals (11) and shooting percentage (.169), third in shots (65) and sixth in both points (19) and assists (8).

He joined Howe on the All-MIAC team after he scored a team-best nine goals in conference play and tied for the team lead with a +11 rating. His nine goals tied for third overall in the league and were second – by one goal – among MIAC freshmen.

SJU (17-7-4, 10-3-3 MIAC) swept both MIAC titles for the fifth time in program history in 2025-26. The Johnnies won their 10th MIAC regular-season championship and first since 2020, as well as their first MIAC playoff championship (sixth overall) and trip to the NCAA Division III Tournament (seventh overall) since 2013.

The regular-season title was the third for head coach Doug Schueller, who collected his third MIAC Men's Hockey Coach of the Year honor, and the fifth overall (2013 and 2026 MIAC playoff championships). Schueller was also a finalist for the Edward Jeremiah Award, presented to the national coach of the year in NCAA Division III men's hockey.

SJU ended the season in the top 25 statistically in five statistical categories: 19th in winning percentage (.679); 21st in scoring offense (3.68 gpg.), team assists (169) and team points (272); and 23rd in scoring margin (+1.00).
