Round 1 Results
RAMSEY, Minn. – No. 20 Saint John's golf recorded a 4-over par 292 in the first round of the three-day Twin Cities Classic on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Links at Northfork (par 72) in Ramsey.
The second round is scheduled for a 10:15 a.m. start Sunday, Sept. 26, at Elk River C.C. (par 72) in Elk River.
The Johnnies lead the 21-team field by one shot over Wisconsin-Eau Claire's second team (+5, 293). Concordia-Moorhead is third (+7, 295), followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire (+8, 296) and Luther of Iowa (+9, 297).
Sophomores
Nate Loxtercamp (Richmond, Minn./Melrose Area) and
Glavine Schugel (New Ulm, Minn.) led SJU with a 1-under par 71 each. Loxtercamp, the reigning MIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week, eagled his first hole (the par-5, 525-yard No. 1) and birdied No. 18 to close his round. Schugel, meanwhile, posted three birdies on the back nine and bogeyed No. 18. The duo are tied for fourth out of 120 golfers.
Freshman
Andrew Boemer (Eagan, Minn./St. Thomas Academy) made his varsity debut and totaled a 74 (+2), while junior
Thomas Gutzmer (Jordan, Minn.) added a 76 (+4). Sophomore
Sam Berger (Waconia, Minn.) was the Johnnies' fifth player at 77 (+5), though he went +4 on No. 9 (par 5, 514 yards) alone.

Blake Schuler (Waconia, Minn.) is tied for second overall thanks to his career-low and team-leading 69 (-3) for SJU Blue, which is 11th at 304 (+16). He eagled No. 14 (par 5, 557 yards) and carded four other birdies.

Nate Bauer (Andover, Minn.) posted an even-par 72.
