COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's tennis returned to conference play with an 8-1 loss to Carleton on Friday, April 30, at the Chang Tennis Complex.
The Knights (6-1, 5-1 MIAC) swept the three doubles matches and won five singles bouts in straight sets.
Senior
Nate Jordre (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) won the lone match for SJU (6-4, 4-4 MIAC) at No. 2 singles, via the super-breaker: 7-5, 2-6 and 10-6.
Jordre and freshman
Mason Meyer (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) suffered a two-point loss at No. 2 doubles, as did freshman
Will Deters (Minneapolis, Minn./Wayzata) and sophomore
Hunter Fischer (Spicer, Minn./Willmar) at No. 3.
The Johnnies end the regular-season schedule with a 1 p.m. match against Macalester on Sunday, May 2, in Collegeville.
