SARTELL, Minn. - Saint John's tennis rolled to an 8-1 non-conference win over St. Norbert (Wis.) on Sunday, March 17, at Sta-Fit in Sartell.

The Johnnies (4-5, 1-0 MIAC) swept doubles competition and won all but No. 5 singles against the Green Knights (3-7, 0-0 MWC). 

Sophomore Thomas Gillach (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) improved to 7-3, 6-2 this spring, with his fourth consecutive win at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0). SJU also claimed straight-set wins at Nos. 2-4: senior Hunter Krebsbach (St. Paul, Minn./Mounds View) at No. 2 (6-0, 6-3); junior Jarod Swoboda (Willmar, Minn.) at No. 3 (6-3, 6-0); and junior Jess Hansen (Dawson, Minn./Dawson-Boyd) at No. 4 (6-0, 6-4).

Sophomore Cole Dutko (Lake Elmo, Minn./Stillwater Area) earned his first varsity win at No. 6 [7-6 (7-1), 6-3].

The Johnnies return to conference competition with a 3:30 p.m. match Saturday, March 23, at No. 15 Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter.
