MANKATO, Minn. – Saint John's University junior sprinter Ryan Miller (Maple Grove, Minn./Totino-Grace) broke his own school record in the 60-meter dash on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Minnesota State-Mankato's Chuck Petersen Open.

Miller finished second with a time of 6.91 seconds, 0.09 of a second behind the Mavericks' Bryant Brown, which broke his previous record of 6.93 seconds set last Feb. 9 in Collegeville.

Miller served as the final leg of SJU's national-champion 4x100-meter relay and earned his second All-America distinction of the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships with a second-place finish, and school-record time of 10.22 seconds, in the 100-meter dash last May.

Freshman Alex Peters (Minneapolis, Minn./Blaine) followed Miller in sixth place Saturday with a time of 7.20 seconds.

Sophomore Shawn Schindler (Maple Grove, Minn.) took third in the pole vault with a height of 4.25 meters.

The Johnnies return to action Jan. 17 at the St. Thomas Invitational in St. Paul.
