COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's tennis suffered its first conference loss of the season by an 8-1 score to No. 38 Carleton on Saturday, April 28, at the Chang Tennis Complex in Collegeville.
The lone win for SJU (13-3, 7-1 MIAC) was at No. 2 doubles, where freshman
Nate Jordre (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) and junior
Jonah Punnoose (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson) extended their win streak to eight matches with an 8-4 victory. The duo is now 13-4 (7-1 MIAC) on the year.
The Knights (20-3, 8-1 MIAC), who are ranked eighth in the region, swept all six singles matches in straight sets.
The Johnnies end the regular-season schedule with a 1 p.m. match Sunday, April 29, against No. 6 Gustavus Adolphus in Collegeville.
