OWATONNA, Minn. – Saint John's tennis remained unbeaten in conference play with a 6-3 win over St. Olaf on Friday, April 20, at the Owatonna Tennis Center.
SJU (12-2, 6-0 MIAC) won two of the three doubles matches and won Nos. 1-4 singles to earn the victory. Senior

Thomas Gillach (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes) saw their win streak ended at 12 with an 8-5 loss at No. 1 doubles, their first defeat since the ITA Midwest Regional at the end of September.

Ryan Meger (Stillwater, Minn./Mahtomedi) and Gillach won their singles matches in straight sets. Nos. 3-6 singles were decided via the super-breaker. Freshman
Nate Jordre (St. Cloud, Minn./Tech) won a wild match at No. 4, winning his first set 7-6 with an extensive 12-10 tally in the tie-breaker, dropped the second set 6-2 and clinched the victory with an 11-9 decision in the super-breaker.
The Oles (4-6, 2-5 MIAC) responded from first-set losses to win Nos. 5 and 6 in the super-breaker.
The Johnnies take on Macalester (9-4, 6-0 MIAC) at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at Life Time Fitness in White Bear Lake.
