COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – Saint John's cross country finished second out of five teams at its annual Fall Finale on Friday, Nov. 2, in Collegeville.

Division I Minnesota won the race with 15 points, followed by SJU (66), Bethel (70), Gustavus Adolphus (78) and Martin Luther (150). 

The Johnnies' top 7-10 runners did not compete in order to rest for the NCAA Central Regional, which is next Saturday, Nov. 10. The race is scheduled for noon on Wartburg's campus in Waverly, Iowa.

Senior Henry Boettcher (Princeton, Minn./ Cambridge-Isanti) led the Johnnies in 13th (27:23), second among NCAA Division III runners. Sophomores Justin Brakob (Maple Grove, Minn.) and Ryan Houseman (Hutchinson, Minn.) followed Boettcher in succession at 14th (27:24) and 15th (27:28), respectively. 

Freshman Justus Fast (Reno, Nev./Galena) crossed the finish line 21st (27:52) and sophomore Chris Stanek (Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) rounded out the Johnnies' five in 31st (28:33).
