BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Thirteen Saint John's University cross country student-athletes earned 2025 Academic All-MIAC honors on Wednesday, Jan. 28.
 
Those honored (listed alphabetically) include:
 
-Senior Eamon Cavanaugh (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest), a social science (secondary education) major with a 3.89 GPA;
-Senior Aiden Chalmers (Chaska, Minn./Minnetonka), a biochemistry major (pre-physical therapy emphasis) with a 3.72 GPA;
-Junior Jack Johnston (Maple Grove, Minn.), a biology major with a 3.76 GPA;
-Junior Vincent Kaluza (Cold Spring, Minn./Rocori), a physics major with a 3.70 GPA;
-Senior Jacob Malecha (Lonsdale, Minn./New Prague), a global business leadership major with a 3.71 GPA;
-Sophomore Adam Marable (Crystal, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong), an exercise and health science major with a 3.81 GPA;
-Junior Max McCoy (Bennington, Neb./Mount Michael Benedictine), a biology major with a 3.74 GPA;
-Junior Lars Molenkamp (Almere, Netherlands/Oostvaarders College), an economics major with a 4.0 GPA;
-Junior Connor O'Brien (Belle Plaine, Minn.), a data science major with a 3.52 GPA;
-Sophomore A.J. Olesen (Wrenshall, Minn./Carlton), an environmental studies major with a 3.63 GPA;
-Sophomore Evan Raske (Becker, Minn./Monticello), a theology major with a 4.00 GPA;
-Senior Nick St. Peter (Maple Grove, Minn.), a data science major with a 3.88 GPA;
-Junior Cole Stencel (Mapleton, Minn./Maple River), a physics major with a 3.79 GPA.
 
In order to qualify for MIAC Academic All-Conference recognition, student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. Transfers must have completed one academic year (full-time) at the institution prior to becoming eligible the following year.
 
Athletically, student-athletes must be a member of a MIAC-sponsored varsity team, utilize a season of participation (per NCAA and MIAC definitions) and have remained on the sports roster through the conclusion of the sport's season. The MIAC moved away from athletic-specific requirements (i.e. participate in 50 percent of the games, finish in the top 100 at the MIAC Championships, etc.) beginning with the 2021-22 academic year.
 
For the sixth-straight academic year and eighth in the last 11, SJU led the MIAC in male honorees for the fall.
 
The Academic All-MIAC honor is the third-straight in cross country for Cavanaugh, Chalmers and St. Peter, and the second for Johnston, Kaluza, Malecha, McCoy, Molenkamp and Stencel.
 
The Johnnies finished fourth out of 11 teams at the MIAC Championship and 13th out of 31 teams at the NCAA Regional this fall.
